What a wonderful surprise the children at Trinity Church School returned to this week after a long period of home learning. The PTA have spent the last 3 years raising funds for some new playground equipment and the school was able to get match funding from the Westfield and Radstock Big Local to help them fund the project. They were able to then have a bespoke designed wooden structure by local company Bigwood Play Systems. Executive Headteacher Mrs Michelle Parsons told us, ‘‘This has been in the pipeline for a number of years but we just couldn’t find what we wanted until we met Mark. He was able to design exactly what we required and the children absolutely love it.” The equipment was opened by members of the PTA and the chair Robin Moss and manager Rob Wicke of the Big Local. As you can see, the children couldn’t wait to test it out!
As a result of the match funding, the school was also able to commission an outdoor learning shelter. Deputy Headteacher Mrs Natalie Jones stated, "Previously, we could only have a campfire on dry days but now the children can enjoy the benefits of outdoor learning all year round".
Staff and children would like to thank the PTA for all their hard work to raise the money, the Big Local for their financial support and Mark and his team for designing and building such an amazing structure.
